Technology Blog #4: Learning to Learn

In Chapter 3, Learning to Learn , from The Connected Educator by Sheryl Nussbaum-Beach , the focus is on how individuals take control of their own learning through connection and reflection. The chapter explains that learning is no longer limited to classrooms or formal training. Instead, people can learn continuously by connecting with others, using digital tools, and engaging in professional networks. App Smackdown

Here is the link to my App Smackdown! APP SMACKDOWN PT.2.pptx https://youtu.be/7FgekQ82HBI Google Slides is a cloud-based presentation tool created by Google that allows users to create, edit, and present slide presentations online. It works similarly to Microsoft PowerPoint but is stored on the internet instead of only on a computer. In my coursework, I would use Google Slides to create presentations for class assignments, group projects, and research topics. The collaboration feature allows classmates to add slides, edit content, and leave comments, which makes group work much easier. I can also add images, videos, charts, and links to make presentations more engaging and easier to understand....

Sheryl Nussbaum-Beach emphasizes that today’s educators and professionals in general grow most effectively when they actively participate in communities of practice. Instead of relying solely on traditional, top-down learning, connected educators engage in conversations, share resources, and learn from peers across digital platforms. This chapter highlights how collaboration, transparency, and continuous learning are essential skills in an ever-evolving digital world. A key idea in Chapter 5 is that learning is no longer confined to formal institutions. Meaningful learning happens when individuals intentionally build and maintain networks that align with their goals and interests. These networks provide feedback, mentorship, and diverse perspectives that help professionals adapt and improve. The chapter also stresses the importance of being both a consumer and a cont...
