In my coursework, I could use Apple’s website as a model when creating digital projects like presentations, blogs, or portfolios. It shows how important it is to keep information clear, visually appealing, and easy to navigate. In my future career, especially in education or communication-based work, I could apply these same principles when designing materials for students or audiences. A well-organized and visually clean layout can make learning tools more effective and accessible.

In my coursework, this website serves as a reminder of what to avoid when creating digital content. Too much information without structure can confuse an audience and make communication ineffective. In a professional setting, especially in teaching or presenting information, clarity and organization are essential. Arngren highlights how poor design choices can negatively impact user engagement and understanding, reinforcing the importance of thoughtful, user-centered design.

Going into the social media world for sports, I want a clean and easy design when trying to navigate websites, and this is a great example of what to do and what not to do when designing a website. Content and how you present it are very important, especially today with social media, so being able to compare what is good and what to avoid is a great step toward putting the best content out there possible!

  1. You did a great job connecting website design to real-world applications like education and social media. Your takeaway about clarity and organization being essential for communication really stood out.

  2. I like the two websites you choose for your smackdown, I think they give a good representation of a well set up website vs.a horribly set up one. I went into the Arngren website and it hurts to look at, compared to the well set up apple site. You also did a good job on your powerpoint presentation as well.

  3. I like how you Broke down what a good and bad website looks like before you broke both websites down and how it really works today in social media.

  4. Hey Gina, I like how you demonstrated Apple's very minimalistic and modern design which is obviously much more visually appealing and overall more successful compared to Arngren's extremely outdated and cluttered design. This shows how appearance alone is enough to turn away potential customers from a website.
